Nnu Ezinwanne Gibson has once again brought pride to the United Organization for Education and Sports Development (UOESD) and to Nigeria as he dazzled on the international stage at the Pepsi Total Premier League Season 5 Global Sports Competition. Representing both UOESD and the country, Gibson clinched the overall championship title, finishing the tournament with the highest number of goals.
At the end of the competition, which featured 12 teams, 22 matches, playoffs, and the grand finale, Gibson delivered an outstanding performance. He personally featured in 17 out of the 22 matches, scoring 10 goals and earning four Man of the Match awards. His impressive display earned him a prize of 200,000 Pakistani Rupees, amounting to over ₦1,000,000, alongside several other honours.
According to the President General of UOESD, Amb. Prof. Chineke Cajethan Goodluck, this victory is not a surprise but a testament to Gibson’s steady growth and exceptional talent. He recalled that Gibson was earlier discovered and celebrated through the UOESD Talent Youth Discovery Award, a flagship programme designed to identify, support, and elevate young talents across various fields.
“With this achievement, Gibson has now expressly qualified for the Commonwealth Games in Malta, 2027,” Amb. Prof. Cajethan announced, noting that the young star’s journey reflects the impact and vision of UOESD in nurturing global achievers.
Gibson hails from Ubaha Awlaw in Oji River Local Government Area, Enugu State, and continues to be an inspiration to youths within his community and beyond.
